Terms of Use

Draft, pending legal review. These terms will be finalized before paid plans launch.

Effective date: to be set at launch.

What CheckWeb is

CheckWeb is an instant website security scan: you enter a URL and get a single score across five axes (Security, Performance, SEO, Infrastructure, Reputation) plus a prioritized list of fixes. It also offers a full-site SEO audit of any public URL, which crawls the pages a site publishes and reports the technical and on-page problems it finds. Both are automated, informational tools: a starting point, not a substitute for a professional security audit.

Passive checks only

On any website you have not verified, CheckWeb performs only passive checks: it reads publicly available data about a website: HTTP response headers, the returned HTML, DNS records, the TLS certificate, robots.txt and sitemap.xml, public blacklists, and the versions of front-end libraries a page loads. This is the same information any browser or search-engine crawler can see. The SEO audit is passive in the same sense but covers more than one page: it follows the site's own links and sitemap to fetch a limited number of public pages, at a rate-limited pace, identifying itself as ChkWebAuditBot and obeying robots.txt. CheckWeb does not port-scan, brute-force, probe for hidden files or admin panels, send exploit payloads, or otherwise intrusively test a website.

Active checks require domain verification

Intrusive (active) checks, such as probing for exposed .git directories, backup files, or specific vulnerabilities, are never run against a domain you have not verified you own. When such checks are introduced, they will run only after you complete domain-ownership verification. This keeps scanning of third-party websites strictly limited to public, passive information.

Acceptable use

Use CheckWeb to assess the security of websites you own or are authorized to assess. Do not use the service to facilitate unauthorized access, to overload or disrupt any website, or in violation of any applicable law. We may rate-limit, cache, or block traffic to protect the service.

Public reports & removal

A scan may produce a public, indexable report at chkweb.com/report/<domain>. Reports show only passive, publicly observable data. If you want a report removed, use the “Request removal” link on the report page or email hello@chkweb.com. Owner-controlled hiding after domain verification is planned.

Plans and pricing

Free scans are available today, and both deep audits are free during early access. Paid plans activate after launch: a one-time SEO audit ($19 after launch, no subscription), a one-time security deep scan ($39 after launch, no subscription), and a monitoring subscription. Prices and features may change before then.

No warranty; limitation of liability

CheckWeb provides an automated, best-effort assessment for informational purposes only. Scores and recommendations are heuristic and may be incomplete or inaccurate; they are not a security audit, legal advice, or a guarantee of any outcome. The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, and to the maximum extent permitted by law we are not liable for any decisions made based on a score or for any indirect or consequential damages.

Operator & governing law

CheckWeb is an early-access project. The operating legal entity (planned: an individual entrepreneur in Armenia) and the governing law will be named here before paid plans launch. Until then these terms are provided for transparency and are subject to change.
